NFL Week 4 Scores: Vikings Win Again 20-13 Over Lions
Minnesota shocked the NFL with a win over the 49ers last week, but the Vikings proved that game was no fluke as the went on the road and defeated division rival Detroit 20-13 Sunday afternoon.
The Vikings used two special teams touchdowns as Percy Harvin returned the opening kick-off 105 yards to start the scoring and then followed that up with a 77 yard punt return by Marcus Sherels for the only touchdowns on the day for Minnesota.
The Vikings managed just 227 yards of offense, but running back Adrian Peterson did rush for 102 yards on 21 carries to help keep the ball away from the Lions high-powered offense.
Detroit quarterback Mathew Stafford completed 30-51 for 319 yards, but he had no touchdown passes and was sacked five times on the day. All-Pro wide receiver Calvin Johnson was held to five catches for 54 yards as the Vikings took over first place in the NFC North with their victory.
There have been some great stories in the early part of the NFL season and the Vikings are beginning to make believers of experts and their fans with their terrific play and have a very winnable game at home next week against Tennessee as they look to make the playoffs after a tough couple of years of poor play.
