Derrick Rose, Lebron James Headline All-Star Starters
The NBA announced its All-Star starters on thursday for both conferences. The Eastern Conference team consists of Bulls G Derrick Rose, Heat G Dwyane Wade, Heat F Lebron James, Knicks F Carmelo Anthony and Magic C Dwight Howard. None of the East starters were first timers, as each of them has been an All-Star starter for at least two seasons.

The Western Conference team was headlined by a couple of first timers in C Andrew Bynum and PF Blake Griffin, who made the All-Star team last year, but as a reserve. The West team is rounded out by Thunder F Kevin Durant, Lakers SG Kobe Bryant and Clippers G Chris Paul. It is Kobe Bryant's 14th time as an All-Star, and he has started in all 14 games.
The reserves for each conferences will be announced a week later. None of the starters were surprises as each player won their positions vote easily. Dwight Howard was the leading vote getter in the East, while Kobe Bryant led the West. Lebron James finished third overall in voting, followed by Derrick Rose.
